Welcome to the heart of Rachel Entwistle, where each piece of jewellery tells a story crafted by skilled hands and inspired by cultural narratives. Our artisans are more than just creators; they are the backbone of our brand, infusing every design with tradition, passion, and innovation. From Rachel's studios in London and Ibiza to the workshops of London's Hatton Garden to the historic city of Jaipur, India, our artisans uphold the values of ethical craftsmanship, ensuring that every piece is not only beautiful but also crafted with integrity and care.
At the core of our creations is Rachel's visionary design process. Drawing inspiration from her background in cultural studies and anthropology, as well as her travels and her home in Ibiza, Rachel weaves narratives and symbolism into her designs, creating jewellery that connects deeply with its wearers. Her process begins with a concept, often inspired by the stories and traditions she has encountered throughout her travels. She collaborates closely with our artisans, sharing her vision and working hand-in-hand to translate her sketches and models into tangible works of art. This synergy between designer and craftsman ensures that each piece remains true to its original inspiration while embracing the skilled hand of our craftspeople.
Our journey began in London in Hatton Garden, we collaborate with local artisans who are masters of traditional techniques such as engraving, stone-setting, and casting. Our Shoreditch studio is a nurturing ground for skilled jewellers, who are part of our dedicated female-led production team. Here, each piece is meticulously crafted, reflecting the storied tradition of British jewellery-making.
One of the central techniques used in our jewellery-making process is lost wax casting. This ancient method allows for intricate detail and precision, enabling complex designs to be brought to life. In lost wax casting, the jewellery piece is sculpted in wax, which is then encased in plaster. Once the plaster hardens, the wax is melted away, leaving a mould that is filled with molten metal. This technique not only preserves the delicate details envisioned by Rachel but also ensures a high level of craftsmanship and quality in every piece.
In Jaipur, India, a city renowned for its rich heritage in jewellery craftsmanship, we work with a workshop known for its ethical and sustainable practices. This partnership allows us to blend age-old techniques with contemporary design, resulting in pieces that resonate with cultural heritage. Our workshop is certified by Sedex, ensuring that all labour, health, and environmental standards are rigorously maintained.
